Back from my Sabbatical

Been gone for a few weeks. There's been a lot happening personally, with some big moves and relocations that have thrown everything pretty topsy-turvy.

But looks like the worst in behind now, so I can get back to a more regular commentary on the sad state of affairs in the US thanks to Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the gang. And what a gang it is.

Like a bunch of gangsters, this group, with the total support of the media, is tearing America, the Constitution and our economy into shreds. We won't recognize it when they are done.

Some sad day, the oblivious middle of the road American will wake up and realize that with his/her complacency and self interest they have given America away, to be dismantled one freedom at a time.

Can anyone show me where in the Constitution it says that the Federal govt can fine and imprison you for NOT buying insurance? Where is that found?

Government of the Activist, by the Activist and for the Activist.

Investor Business Daily has a great piece about who really wrote the Stimulus Bill and what direction they wanted to push the country with the $787 Billion in fundings.

It's eye-opening and sad how far left this country has gone. And they are doing it practically in the open, daring us to do anything about it.

We all have to remember this at the next election! If it's not too late!

Economic Illiterates in Washington

Here's another great piece by John Stossel exposing the Cash for Clunkers program for what it is... Another example of a government program that was ill-conceived and even though it supposedly had good intentions (which I have a hard time accepting) in reality it will probably do the overall economy and citizens more harm than good. Isn't that the way it is with most government programs? And they want us to trust that they have a better idea how to manage the nation's healthcare?

Make sure you read the article, Stossel hits the nail on the head with this one.

Real Unemployment is 16% - Says Atlanta Fed Chief

From the guys at Agora Financial's 5 Minute Forecast, this bit of interesting news and commentary.

"If one considers the people who would like a job but have stopped looking,” said Atlanta Fed chief Dennis Lockhart yesterday, “and those who are working fewer hours than they want, the unemployment rate would move from the official 9.4% to 16%.”

Heh. Did you get that? A Fed chief just suggested real unemployment is 16%, 70% worse than advertised.

Hmmn… if a growing number of the population is working for the government at higher-than-market rates… and another growing portion is asking the government for assistance while looking for work elsewhere... and 54% of the population is already getting more money back from the government than they pay in… and the only incentives for buying stuff like cars and houses come from tax breaks at the expense of future generations… and the bank system is still on life-support… makes one wonder how are we going to get out of this mess?

And then check out this graph showing the wage differential between government and private industry employees!

Cheney Tells It Like It Really Is!!

Here's a statement by former Vice President Cheney on Obama/Holder's decision to appoint a special prosecutor to look into alledged CIA torture abuses.

Ya gotta love him!

The documents released Monday clearly demonstrate that the individuals subjected to Enhanced Interrogation Techniques provided the bulk of intelligence we gained about al Qaeda.

This intelligence saved lives and prevented terrorist attacks. These detainees also, according to the documents, played a role in nearly every capture of al Qaeda members and associates since 2002. The activities of the CIA in carrying out the policies of the Bush Administration were directly responsible for defeating all efforts by al Qaeda to launch further mass casualty attacks against the United States.

The people involved deserve our gratitude. They do not deserve to be the targets of political investigations or prosecutions. President Obama’s decision to allow the Justice Department to investigate and possibly prosecute CIA personnel, and his decision to remove authority for interrogation from the CIA to the White House, serves as a reminder, if any were needed, of why so many Americans have doubts about this Administration’s ability to be responsible for our nation’s security

Be wary of ObamaCare

The news is touting the split amongst the Dems over the Government Run Option, saying the far left has drawn a line in the sand, demanding that any Health Care Reform must have the Governement Run Option. Obama and his White House team seem to be backing away from it.

But I don't trust any of them. The Dems plan all along has been to ram a Health Care Reform plan down our throat that will have a Government Run Option as well as ultimately a Single Payer plan that will effectively do away with all private insurance and make us totally dependent on the Government for our insurance. It's plain to see if you'll just take a moment to look.

And the result of this kind of Change We Can Believe In?

Now we know why ACORN is doing the Census

A little known fact, disclosed in this opinion piece in the WSJ today, is that Congress (read, the Democrats) have instructed the Census to count everyone, without asking if they are Citizens.

The result? California, by counting the illegal immigrants, will swell the population enough that California is estimated to get 9 more Congressman than if the illegals weren't counted. Texas will get 4, and so on.

How absurd is that? Obviously not so absurd that Congress will change it's mind and have the Census only count Citizens. In a 1964 case the Supreme Court ruled - “The House of Representatives, the [Constitutional] Convention agreed, was to represent the people as individuals and on a basis of complete equality for each voter.” For those educated in public schools, that means that the Congress is to be representative of Voters, not everyone in the country.

Just one more case where the Congress tells the People of the United States to go take a leap!

5 months of Stupidity

Don't know the author of this, I received it in an email, but boy does it hit some great points.

  • If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
  • If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
  • If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current on their income taxes, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to “Cinco de Cuatro” in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fourth of May (Cuatro de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?
  • If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word advice would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as “proof” of what a dunce he is?
  • If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on “Earth Day”, would you have concluded he’s a hypocrite?
  • If George W. Bush’s administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually “get” what happened on 9-11?
  • If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
  • If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans , would you want it made into a major ongoing po litical issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
  • If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan’s holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?
  • If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

So, tell me again, what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? Can't think of anything? Don't worry. He's done all this in 5 months -- so you'll have three years and seven months to come up with an answer.. No-common-sense, naive, incompetent, uninformed and media-brainwashed voters did this to themselves. Insanity is widespread. Real Americans are waking up.

Arrogance - John Stossels take on Congress and ObamaCare

I really enjoy John Stossel. Here's a guy that works at one of the big three, ABC, and isn't afraid to tell it like it is!

This is a great piece by him on the folks in Congress that think they have the smarts to tackle 15% of our country's economy!

Remember "Chariots of the Gods"?

Chariots of the Gods by Eric von Daniken was my first book on UFOs and Aliens. Might have been yours too.

It's a classic, and is as relevent today as it was when published in the US in 1969.

Here's an interesting clip of an interview with von Daniken at his Mystery Park in Switzerland.
The real interview starts at about the 7:00 mark. Enjoy

The "Most Trusted Man in America" Passes Away

It was sad to hear of Walter Cronkite's passing. For those of my generation that lived away from the media centers of New York and the West Coast, the fly-over country, he was the source of most of our world and national news. Sure we had the local paper and local tv news, but for the stories of the day on a National or Global level, it was Cronkite's 30 minute news each weeknight that we turned to.

And in those more innocent, less jaded, complicated, conspiratorial times, we took what he said as gospel. If he said it, we trusted and depended on it being true, checked out and not subjected to the spin of the day. Hell, we didn't even know spin existed. I'm sure it did, but I had never heard about it or have ever thought that Cronkite allowed himself to be manipulated by anyone, be it politician or business mogul.

We certainly don't hold the current crop of newscasters, from CNN to Fox News, to what's left of the Big Three's evening newscasts, in that high regard. (Does anyone even watch the Big 3 anymore? I can't remember the last time I watched one of them, certainly not since Dan Rather exposed his agenda with his attempt to take down Bush).
I don't trust any of them and question everything that's said by them. Even if I agree with them.

It's a shame, a real shame that our news world has dissolved into a mass of self-serving talking heads with hidden agendas, being manipulated like puppets by the PowersThatBe.

Will there ever be another Walter Cronkite?

Crop Circles Continue to Amaze and Astonish

“Apparently, someone was driving past the field at 4:18 AM the morning of July 14, and there was nothing in the field; it was bare of any imprint. When he drove back past the field at 5 AM, the formation was there.” - Lucy Pringle, Investigator and Photographer

Nearly 170-foot-diameter “woven” wheat circle with long arcs projectingfrom two sides was reported in the East Field near Alton Barnes, Wiltshire, England, on July 14, 2009. Aerial images © 2009 by Russell Stannard. For other images and information: Cropcircleconnector.

Out of the Mouth of Babes

God I love it when Biden opens his mouth. For all his posturing and pontificating puffery, he generally does one thing well. He speaks his mind.

Now he doesn't mean to, most politicians don't. They want to give rambling rhetorical, equivocated answers that say nothing and mean nothing. And I'm sure that's Ole Joe's aim. But he just can't do it. He just can't stop himself. When he's up in front of a group of people and he starts talking, he just can't stop himself from telling everyone what he really thinks is going on, not what the spin masters are telling him to say.

Sure he'll make sure the talking points du jour are sprinkled into the talk, but then listen, he'll invariably end up spilling the beans.

His latest jewel? Saying that as a country we have to spend our way out of bankruptcy. That without the Stimulus bills and all the government spending, we'd be bankrupt.

It's true, we are bankrupt as a country, but boy, no ones agrees that the way to correct the issue is to spend our way out of it. Nobody that is except Biden.

This is What's Coming Down the Pike from Obama

Obama is relentless in his push to get everything on his agenda done in the first year of his term. He knows he's losing popularity and influence as the American people begin to wake up to what he's really doing to the country's economy.

Next on the agenda?? Amnesty for the Illegals!

Democrats HealthPlan Nightmare

Here's a schematic of the nightmare called ObamaCare.

Combine this with the undecipherable Cap & Tax bill and if they both become law, then the America we know and love is finished.

Not trying to be melodramatic, but the level of governmental spending, bureaucracy and control of our lives and our business that will come with these bills will end the great American experiment that's lasted over 200 years. We will become a socialist driven country that will begin a spiral down to third-world status.
It happens to all countries that take from the producers and give to the non-producers. When the Democrats used modern social-networking techniques to engage the uneducated/government schooled masses in the election process, enabling these new voters to elect people that promised to take from the rich and give to them, we lost. It was over then.

Our only hope lies in a counter-revolution, one that emboldens the silent majority to demand, and if necessary, forcibly take back the reins of power. But even then, the outcome of such a trial will leave this country so divided, so alienated that I doubt even then we'd come out of it looking any thing like the America of the 20th century.

No, sadly, unless a miracle occurs, I feel we're in the midst of a Change, the likes of which we never could have imagined only a few short years ago. Certainly not the type of change I could ever have believed would take down America.

Beautiful Crop Circle in England

This amazing Crop Circle, about 1,000 feet long, appeared in England recently. Made in three sections over 3 successive nights, it's one of the most elaborate and enigmatic Crop Circles to ever appear. There's a lot of speculation as to what it means, but what it says to me is We're Not Alone.

Go here for more information on this and other recent Crop Circles.

45 Wisdoms

Written By Regina Brett, 90 years old,
of The Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio .

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:
1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone...
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first pay check.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye. But don't worry; God never blinks.
16. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19. It's never too late to have a happy childhood. But the second one is up to you and no one else.
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion, today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive everyone everything.
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give it time.
31. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
42. The best is yet to come.
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift.

Remember, friends are the family we choose for ourselves. Have a good day.

What Lives will be Worth under ObamaCare

The Wall Street Journal has a good piece on the experience in Britian with government healthcare and the inevitable rationing that will occur.

In Britian they set up a National Institute for Health and Clinical Experience, or NICE. While ostensibly set up to help better manage the costs and eliminate wasteful treatments and services, it has become for all purposes a rationing board. Which is exactly what will happen with ObamaCare.

Here are some key excerpts from the piece:

The NICE board even has a mathematical formula for doing so, based on a "quality adjusted life year." While the guidelines are complex, NICE currently holds that, except in unusual cases, Britain cannot afford to spend more than about $22,000 to extend a life by six months. Why $22,000? It seems to be arbitrary, calculated mainly based on how much the government wants to spend on health care. That figure has remained fairly constant since NICE was established and doesn't adjust for either overall or medical inflation.

Proponents argue that such cost-benefit analysis has to figure into health-care decisions, and that any medical system rations care in some way. And it is true that U.S. private insurers also deny reimbursement for some kinds of care. The core issue is whether those decisions are going to be dictated by the brute force of politics (NICE) or by prices (a private insurance system).
The last six months of life are a particularly difficult moral issue because that is when most health-care spending occurs. But who would you rather have making decisions about whether a treatment is worth the price -- the combination of you, your doctor and a private insurer, or a government board that cuts everyone off at $22,000?

The NICE precedent also undercuts the Obama Administration's argument that vast health savings can be gleaned simply by automating health records or squeezing out "waste." Britain has tried all of that but ultimately has concluded that it can only rein in costs by limiting care. The logic of a health-care system dominated by government is that it always ends up with some version of a NICE board that makes these life-or-death treatment decisions. The Administration's new Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research currently lacks the authority of NICE. But over time, if the Obama plan passes and taxpayer costs inevitably soar, it could quickly gain it.

Mr. Obama and Democrats claim they can expand subsidies for tens of millions of Americans, while saving money and improving the quality of care. It can't possibly be done. The inevitable result of their plan will be some version of a NICE board that will tell millions of Americans that they are too young, or too old, or too sick to be worth paying to care for.

The Real Facts about the Cap & Trade Bill

Here's a great article from NRO about the absurdities, waste, corruption and thievery included in the Waxman-Markey (Cap & Trade) bill that passed the House recently.

This bill is the worst bill ever passed by the House, bar none! It's a pile of largess, set to destroy the economy of the U.S. with the give-aways, bureaucratic power grabs and ALL INTRUSIVE invasion of our lives in practically everything we do. Everything! There's not an aspect of our lives that's not affected by this bill.

IT MUST BE STOPPED! Call/write/email your Senator and tell them to not pass the bill!

It's no exaggeration to say that your very way of life depends on it!

Maybe the Tide is Changing - Helen Thomas scolds Gibbs

Helen Thomas, the dean of the White House press corp, who made no bones about her disdane for the Bush administration, lashed out at Obama's White House Press Secretary Gibbs. In commenting on the Obama's upcoming staged and closely controlled townhall meeting on Healthcare, She said "The point is the control from here. We have never had that in the White House"

Maybe the tide is turning and even the MSM is beginning to question the Chosen One.

UPDATE: The White House has now taken down from their index of White House briefings, the one from 7-1-09. No surprise that they don't want the public to see Gibbs get grilled by one of their own!

Obama Doesn't Want Us to Get Any Big Ideas!

Obama has come out in support of ousted left-wing Honduran President Zelaya. He said that he won't recognize Zelaya's eviction from the country by the military and won't recognize the man the Honduran Congress voted in as the replacement, Roberto Micheletti.

On the surface that seems like a pretty American thing to do, even for Obama. But upon closer examination, clearly spelled out in this article in the WSJ, it seems that the ousted president was trying to act more like his Venezula buddy, Hugo Chavez. Seems Zelaya wanted to go against the Honduran constitution and force a referrendum upon the country to vote for a change to the constitution to allow him to stay in office for a second term. Something the Honduran constitution doesn't allow.

So when you really look at the facts, something Obama and the MSM conveniently ignore, it seems that it wasn't a coup by the Honduran military at all. The military was just following the orders of the Honduran Supreme Court and Congress. Zelaya was not following the constitution, was trying to do things not allowed by the law and the Supreme Court and Congress did the only thing they could and that was to force him out of the country. He was breaking the law!

Obviously, with the direction Obama is taking America, with unprecedented, some would say illegal, takeovers of businesses and industries, he certainly doesn't want to be seen supporting legitimate action taken by the other two pillars of a government to oust a left-wing, socialist dictator. Maybe that's why Obama is joined in his protest with Castro and Chevez! Two other left-wing dictators that don't follow the law. Hmmm?

Obama can't support or allow a government to follow it's constitution and kick out a left-wing despot. Might give people in America some ideas about what they may have to do to get rid of him as he keeps abusing and ignoring the checks and balances set up in our Constitution.

But with a complicit Democratic Congress abdicating their duty to check excesses in the Executive wing and with Obama now able to staff the Supreme Court with sympathetic judges, we may never have the opportunity to do what the Honduran government did.

You Cannot Legislate the Poor into Prosperity...

" by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

Don't forget about Iran and the Protesters

Amid all of the media hoopla surrounding the death of Micheal Jackson, the story of the Iranian protestors is being swept off of the few papers and screen that were covering it.

Dispite this, the protests continue, even amid more brutal and systematic crackdown by the corrupt Iran government.

Yet this tragic story is lightened somewhat by a couple of amazing photos of two brave souls standing up to the bloody regime.

Can you imagine the bravery of this young lady to give the one-finger salute to this despot? I have no word as to what happened afterwards. I hope she's ok and didn't become another victim.

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Finally... the President spoke out about the Iranian Elections

Here's what the President had to say

- “These elections are dreadful news,”

- the Iranian people “deserve something else.”

- called the situation a “tragedy”, but said that it was not “negative to have a real opinion movement that tries to break its chains.”

- described the situation in Iran as "extremely alarming" and denounced as 'totally disproportionate" the crackdown on demonstrators, which has left eight people dead

It's about time the President grew some cojones and spoke out about the fraud election in Iran.

The only problem is the President I'm talking about is France's President Sarkozy, not our weak, appeasing President Obama.

Who'd have ever thought the day would come when France would be a bigger defender and more outspoken sponsor of freedom and democracy than America?

Now They Want to Ban Pocket Knives

In another great example of the Nanny State that the liberals think we need, the Homeland Security folks are trying to quietly ban just about ALL Pocket Knives!

This absurdity is coming about by the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), a part of the Homeland Security Department, deciding that pocket knives with assisted opening mechanisms should be considered a Switchblade!
While the ruling is ostensibly for imports only, the reality is that most Federal, State and Local jurisdictions use the CBP guidelines for their local law interpretation and enforcement. So if the CBP rules that simple, everyday pocket knives with thumb studs for single hand opening, like I have and use about everyday, are to be considered switchblades, then basically the whole country will use the same guidelines and all the regular knives will become illegal overnight!

Another sneaky, backhanded way to control the populace!

Here's a great site for more information and suggestions on how to contact the CBP and your representatives for protesting this craziness!

NBC uses it's Clout to Silence Critics of it and Obama

Here's an interesting story of how Immelt and Zucker, so outraged at a story by The Hollywood Reporter about the "drama" at the recent GE stockholder's meeting and attempts by stockholders to determine if Immelt had ordered NBC and it's affiliates to be less critical of Obama and his policies, that Immelt demanded that GE and all of it's affiliates stop doing business and talking with The Hollywood Reporter

Just another reason to not trust NBC, MSNBC, GE etc. They're in the tank for Obama, not necessarily for political reasons, more for business reasons. But they are definitely in the tank!

Protecting Black Panthers

Here's a disturbing editorial from the Washington Times about how Obama's Justice Department dropped what was basically a cut and dried case of voter intimidation in Philadelphia by some New Black Panthers during the last Presidential election. In case you don't remember the incident, here's the video.

This action by the Justice Department, if you can call it that, hasn't been covered by the MSM, they too are sweeping it under the rug. Yet if it had been voter intimidation against a minority it would have been plastered over all the news.

Are you like me and getting really fed up with the lack of concern by the MSM and others about the many cases of reverse discrimination we're seeing? Discrimination is discrimination, no matter which direction it goes and should not be tolerated. Yet there's obviously a lack of concern unless the discrimination is toward a minority.

Cheney Answers Obama's Claims

Former Vice President Dick Cheney delivered an impassioned speech today at the American Enterprise Institute regarding the actions taken against terrorists by the last administration.

It's a must-read for anyone interested in the truth. For all the Cheney-bashing that we heard for 8 years, I for one am grateful that we had him fighting the War on Terror. I admired him as Sec. of Defense during the first Gulf War and my admiration and appreciation for him has only grown.

The actions taken by him and President Bush kept us safe for 7 1/2 years. I'm afraid it's a record that won't be surpassed by this administration.

It Just Keeps Getting Worse!

Here's an eye-opener - "federal income taxes for every taxpayer would have to rise by roughly 81% to pay all of the benefits promised by these programs under current law over and above the payroll tax."

This is from a very sobering article by Bruce Bartlett, a former Treasury Dept economist. We've all been hearing it, that the Social Security and Medicare obligations are more than we can ever fund. That the politicians just keep giving more and more away to buy votes. We'll, the irresponsible spending is coming home to roost and it's just around the corner

Pelosi and the CIA

Deer in the Headlights

Pelosi is digging herself a nice little hole. One that she'll try to lie herself out of, like she and most of the politicians do. But this one may be a little harder for her to manage.

The CIA doesn't like getting placed in the middle of a political battle, nor does it like being accused of misleading Congress. Yet that's what Pelosi has done today. I know that head of the CIA is a recent Obama appointee and he'll try to protect Pelosi, but the folks at CIA won't let him throw them to the wolves.

So I expect this to be an interesting battle, one the MSM will love, even if it does involve their queen. Watch for Obama to rush his SCOTUS nominee quickly to take some of the media attention away from Pelosi. He can't have her grilled in the media too long.

Obama uses Bully pulpit to Coerce Opponents to Chrysler Plan

In a not unexpected move, Obama and his administration threatened ( and in some cases, has already done it) to use the power of the Washington Press Corp to embarrass and destroy the reputation of a firm that opposed the Obama Chrysler plan.

Outlined in a post by ABC News it seems that the White House has little concern about the legal rights of creditors in a bankruptcy if those rights don't go along with its agenda and goals. And if secured bondholders, who usually are one of the first to be paid in a bankruptcy, don't accept a demotion to a lower level payout, Obama has no shame in saying whatever it takes to bully them into submission.

Case in point - Obama criticized some of the secured creditors by announcing - "In particular, a group of investment firms and hedge funds decided to hold out for the prospect of an unjustified taxpayer-funded bailout. They were hoping that everybody else would make sacrifices, and they would have to make none."

What the smartest man to ever be elected president failed to mention, is that those nasty, evil investment firms had agreed to a 50 cent on the dollar payout. Not the 27 cent payout Obama wanted them to take. With the difference to be for the benefit of the union pensioners, who in a normal bankruptcy would be pretty much out in the cold. But remember who voted Obama in... the unions.

So this is the 'Change we can believe in' - the most sinister and dirty administration ever!

How the CIA really feels about Obama

A former security expert from France describes how Obama's attack and lack of support for the CIA is viewed from Europe.

Here's an excerpt:
"Well, if you thought the war they waged against Bush was intense, it was nothing compared to how they're going to screw Obama. He has tried to gut them with the ‘torture memo' release and slashing their budgets. The morale is depressed, sullen, and enraged. You know what a left-wing outfit Langley is. They thought he was their boy and they feel betrayed. All kinds of damaging stuff on him will be appearing via their media friends."

Here's the link to the full article: A Laughing Stock in Paris, from the Atlas Shrugged blog

Eric Holder: You've got mail!

Here's a link to a copy of the letter Andrew McCarthy sent to Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, declining to participate in the Obama administration's charade, the President’s Task Force on Detention Policy

Andrew McCarthy, a former chief assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York, and now a senior fellow of a conservative think-tank, National Review Institute, could easily see through the spin by Holder and to the real purpose of the meeting:

"It is quite clear ... that the Obama administration has already settled on a policy of releasing trained jihadists (including releasing some of them into the United States)," he wrote. "Whatever the good intentions of the organizers, the meeting will obviously be used by the administration to claim that its policy was arrived at in consultation with current and former government officials experienced in terrorism cases and national security issues."

Be sure to read the full letter to grasp the terrifying reality of what the Obama administration is doing.

Well done, Mr. McCarthy!

Over 5 million Jobs Lost and Counting

Don't let Obama's "everything's going to be fine" spin fool you. We haven't seen the worse of this yet.

Not to be a gloom and doomer, but a realistic look at what's really happening out here in 'flyover country' shows that job loss and foreclosures are not going down, but are still accelerating.

Here's a very eye-opening graphic view of the spread and magnitude of the job losses in America in the last couple of years. ( thanks to Slate Magazine)

A Lesson in History

I received this in an email today. It's too funny to not post. Enjoy!

For those who slept through World History 101...... here is a condensed version.

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were:
1. The invention of beer, and
2. The invention of the wheel.
The wheel was invented to get man to the beer, and the beer to the man.

These facts formed the foundation of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:
1. Liberals
2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet, so while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That's how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BB Q at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ's and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement. Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy and group hugs, the evolution of the Hollywood actor, and the concept of Democratic voting to decide how to divide all the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Over the years, Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most powerful land animal on earth, the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by the jackass. Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well done. Sushi, tofu, and French food are standard liberal fare. Another interesting evolutionary side note: most of liberal women have higher testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn't fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer. They eat red meat and still provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys, lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, Marines, and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in Europe when conservatives were coming to America They crept in after the Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today's lesson in world history.......
It should be noted that a liberal may have a momentary urge to angrily respond to the above before forwarding it.
A conservative will simply laugh and be so convinced of the absolute truth of this history that it will be forwarded immediately to other true believers, and to more liberals...just to **** them off.
Have a great day

How Socialism Really Works

An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had once, failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked, no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade.

After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too; so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great; but when government takes all the reward away; no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that...

Gotta Love the Texans!

We finally have a Governor standing up and telling the Fed's they can take their crap and shove it. And it can only come from one state, The Republic of Texas! Here's a link to his speech on YouTube.

God loves them Texans. They have a history of not taking anything from anybody, and doing a pretty good job of giving back a whole lot more. They're a boisterous bunch, full of pride and patriotism. But theirs isn't limited just to America. They have a love of their state not seen any where else in the country. That old saying "Don't mess with Texas" isn't just a slogan. It's a heartfelt warning meant for anyone or any government, foreign or domestic that feels it can run over the largest state in the lower 48.

This is going to be worth watching over the next few months to see how the Fed's are going to react to Texas' stand. It'll be a bell weather for all the rest of the Red states.

Obama bows to a King!

Here's something the mainstream media isn't going to show. Our President bowing to another country's king!! That's the biggest blunder, break in protocal and violation of our country's founding principal that we bow to no one, that a president can make.

Where's the outrage? Why arent' they calling him on this? Questioning why he did it? Was it on purpose? Is he so stupid that he didn't know we never bow to another country? Where are his protocal advisors?

God, this is getting insufferable. One thing after another. What's going to happen next? I shudder to imagine!

The Dirty Little Secret inside the G-20 Agreement

I'm surprised it hasn't garnered more coverage, given the all out efforts by the liberals and their friends in the media to incite wealth envy and hatred for the successful. But one of the most dangerous thing to come out of the G-20 communique was the agreement to "bring accountability and transparency to executive compensation at corporations around the world"

Obama thinks a "shame function" may be in order as well.

Do you see what they are doing? Do you grasp the reality of this?

This is the start of the government telling corporations, and not just the ones receiving bailout money or assistance, but all corporations what they can and should pay executives!

Guys, this is socialism, this is not free enterprise, where the best take risks and are rewarded accordingly. This is where the ones that for whatever reason don't hit the big times prevent the ones that do from enjoying the spoils of their efforts! All in the b.s. wrap of "fairness".

We've got to stop this insanity and manipulation by the left and the media. Their play of the rich vs. the rest has gotten way past rhetoric and is now being stuffed down our throats.

But do you see the ones in political power, Pelosi, Reid, Obama and the rest foregoing any spoils? Has Pelosi stopped using the Air Force to fly her wherever she wants on the taxpayers dime. Of course not. They will continue to grow their privileged ways while dictating to the rest of us what is proper and how we need to sacrifice for the good of the rest.

This is unbelievable.

The 90% Myth - Another 2nd Admendment Attack

Recently, if you've been watching the news at all, you've heard and seen stories about how 90% of the guns used by the drug cartel in Mexico comes from the United States. You've heard it from VP Biden, from news reporters, from Congress. The statistic has been used in the same way Gore dismisses any questions about Global Warming. The fact is a fact and is without questioning now. So quit asking!

But there's one problem - (a minor one of course to the Obama administration and their goal to take away guns)

It's a lie. It's not correct. It ain't the truth!

Fox News has a piece today which clears up the fog of spin-manship by Obama's boys.

Here are the facts - In 2007-2008, according to ATF Special Agent William Newell, Mexico submitted 11,000 guns to the ATF for tracing. Close to 6,000 were successfully traced -- and of those, 90 percent -- 5,114 to be exact, according to testimony in Congress by William Hoover -- were found to have come from the U.S.
But in those same two years, according to the Mexican government, 29,000 guns were recovered at crime scenes.
In other words, 68 percent of the guns that were recovered were never submitted for tracing. And when you weed out the roughly 6,000 guns that could not be traced from the remaining 32 percent, it means 83 percent of the guns found at crime scenes in Mexico could not be traced to the U.S.

So what's the real number? Try 17%

Far cry from the 90% that's been touted about. But of course, the liberals never have let a little thing like the truth stand in the way of their goals. Like the Mexico ambassador to the US, Auturo Sarukhan, who said Mexico seizes 2,000 guns a day from the United States -- 730,000 a year. That's a far cry from the official statistic from the Mexican attorney general's office, which says Mexico seized 29,000 weapons in all of 2007 and 2008.

If they're lying about this, what else are they willing to lie about?

G-20 - What's the world coming too?

It's not looking good for old fashioned capitalism and the beleaguered Dollar. Europe, while loving Obama and his appeasing attitudes toward Islamic terrorist nations ( oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that by command from the omnipotent one, we are no longer supposed to call them terrorists. They are people that cause man-made disasters!) the Euros are digging in, especially the Germans, and are not agreeing to Obama's and Britain's Gordon Brown idea that we need to spend and tax our way out of this mess. Hallelujah!

On the surface that's good news, but the wolves smell blood and Russia and China are looking to gang up and try to make a move to a global currency, one that is no longer backed by the Dollar but instead is backed by Gold. That would be a disaster for America. Without the gold to back our reckless spending the only choice would be to devalue the Dollar.

It may seem like a far-fetched idea, but we're in new territory here, with all of the past practices and paradigms being turned on their head. Be watchful of "Global this" or "Global that" coming out the announcements from the meetings. That could be the signal for the beginning of the end.

For those interested, here's the schedule for the meetings for the next few days

What's a Trillion Dollars Look Like?

In this day and age when Obama thinks nothing of racking up a couple of Trillions in spending and deficits it's easy to get lulled into thinking So What? A Trillion is just the next number up from a billion, and we've been talking billions for decades. So what's the big deal about a Trillion?

Courtesy of PageTutor.com here's a good way to visualize just what a Trillion looks like and why we should be concerned with our out-of-control Congress and President.

Let's start with $10,000. A nice hefty sum that in $100 bills fit's nicely in a pocket or purse

$10,000

Now let's look at $1 million. Here, 100 stacks of $10,000 make a pile that would fit nicely into a grocery bag. That'd make for a fun shopping spree!
$1 million

Now that measly $1 million looked a little small, so let's see what $100 million looks like. A little more impressive, wouldn't you say? Makes a nice square pallet of money.
$100 million

Let's take a look at a real pile of money, $1 billion dollars, which is 10 of the $100 million pallets. That might take a while to spend, unless you're a pork-crazed Congressman
$1 billion

And that brings us to the real stack of money. The one that Pelosi, Reid and Obama think is just the answer to our economic woes. Let's take a look at what $1 Trillion looks like.

$1 Trillion

Look at that! Notice that the pallets are double-stacked? See our little red-shirted man in the left-hand corner?

Remember this view the next time your friendly MSM talking head throws around some numbers and tells you the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-generous, all-taxing Obama is going to need another Trillion or so of your money to fix our economy!

This Whole Thing is Getting Crazy

If you saw my last post, or have been watching the news then you know that Obama and his media team have decided they will use his bully pulpit and the White House to squelch any nay-sayers in the media like Cramer or Limbaugh. I think that's a big mistake. The President needs to stay above the fray, take his criticism, while pushing forth his agenda.

But as is typical of Democrats, (even more so than Republicans, although they aren't without guilt either) their MO is to destroy the messenger. It's OK for free-speech in America so long as you agree with them. But if you don't toe the line, and you make big enough waves or headlines with your remarks...they're going to come after you. What a little bunch of men.

But I have to hand it to Cramer. His retort to Obama was well written and I thought packed a mean punch.

I tell you, Obama and his drive to destroy all the wealth-builders in this country is stirring up a hornets nest. Even some of his supporters are turning.

I spoke to a friend yesterday. She's a business person, but voted for Obama based on his promise of change. Like a lot of folks, including me, she was tired of the crap we're handed out of Washington, no matter the party in control. But she's now questioning her vote. She told me she's very worried about his huge move to the left and the politics-as-usual approach. She said there's no change, just a whole lot more of the same ol' crap.

I bet she's not the only one wishing they hadn't voted for Obama.

545 People

By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices, 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.
The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party.

She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red .
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ.
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.

Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.
Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Rahm Emanuel and Ethics

Here's Dick Morris's column from Feb 17th -

News broke last week that Rahm Emanuel, now White House chief of staff, lived rent- free for years in the home of Rep. Rosa De Lauro (D-Conn.) - and failed to disclose the gift, as congressional ethics rules mandate. But this is only the tip of Emanuel’s previously undislosed ethics problems.

One issue is the work Emanuel tossed the way of De Lauro’s husband. But the bigger one goes back to Emanuel’s days on the board of now-bankrupt mortgage giant Freddie Mac.
Emanuel is a multimillionaire, but lived for the last five years for free in the tony Capitol Hill townhouse owned by De Lauro and her husband, Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg.

During that time, he also served as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee - which gave Greenberg huge polling contracts. It paid Greenberg’s firm $239,996 in 2006 and $317,775 in 2008. (Emanuel’s own campaign committee has also paid Greenberg more than $50,000 since 2004.)

To be fair, Greenberg had polling contracts with the DCCC before - but each new election cycle brings its own set of consultants. And Emanuel was certainly generous with his roommate.
Emanuel never declared the substantial gift of free rent on any of his financial-disclosure forms. He and De Lauro claim that it was just allowable “hospitality” between colleagues. Hospitality - for five years?
Some experts suggest that it was also taxable income: Over five years, the free rent could easily add up to more than $100,000.

Nor is this all that seems to have been missed in the Obama team’s vetting process. Consider: Emanuel served on the Freddie Mac board of directors during the time that the government-backed lender lied about its earnings, a leading contributor to the current economic meltdown.
The Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight Agency later singled out the Freddie Mac board as contributing to the fraud in 2000 and 2001 for “failing in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention.” In other words, board members ignored the red flags waving in their faces.

The SEC later fined Freddie $50 million for its deliberate fraud in 2000, 2001 and 2002.
Meanwhile, Emanuel was paid more than $260,000 for his Freddie “service.” Plus, after he resigned from the board to run for Congress in 2002, the troubled agency’s PAC gave his campaign $25,000 - its largest single gift to a House candidate.
That’s what friends are for, isn’t it?

Now Rahm Emanuel is in the White House helping President Obama dig out of the mess that Freddie Mac helped start.
The president’s chief of staff isn’t subject to Senate confirmation, but his ethics still matter. Is this the change that we can depend on?

Why Are They Laughing?

Why are they laughing? What's so funny about a nearly $800 Billion tax and spend bill that is going to burden our country for years, maybe decades? A stimulus bill that the many say won't begin having much positive effect on the economy for years?

Could it be because they know they have totally flamboozelled most of the people of this country? That most of the people don't care about tomorrow and the consequences of poor decisons made today so long as you give them a little something today.

How's this for a notion of what Democratic leadership can do for America:

Here are the worst Ten Cities in America for Poverty

1. Detroit , MI 32.5%
2. Buffalo , NY 29.9%
3. Cincinnati , OH 27.8%
4. Cleveland , OH 27.0%
6. Miami , FL 26.9%
5. St. Louis , MO 26.8%
7. El Paso , TX 26.4%
8. Milwaukee , WI 26.2%
9. Philadelphia , PA 25.1%
10. Newark , NJ 24.2%
U.S. Census Bureau, 2006 American Community Survey, August 2007
Guess what they all have in common? None of them have had a Republican Mayor since 1989 and most of them have never had a Republican Mayor. They are all run by Democrats!
Obama likes to link himself with Lincoln, another President from Illinois. Let's see what Lincoln had to say about the poor and how best to help them. Do you think any of the Democratic Mayors of the cities above have ever read this?
POOR
"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence. You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves."
Abraham Lincoln

A New Word

I received this in an email today. It's sooooooo good and soooooo timely, especially given my previous post, that I had to post it here. I'm going to incorporate it into my vocabulary, I hope you will also.

Years ago when I sometimes used unsavory language, I often used the expression "Bull Sh**." As I grew up a bit and discovered it was not necessary to use such crude language, that expression became "BS."

Q. What did I really mean when I used those expressions?

A. I meant that something was ridiculous, or idiotic or a half truth or just stupid. It covered any number or negative formats. The dictionary defines it as: nonsense; especially : foolish insolent talk...

I have decided that I no longer will use either of those expressions in the future. When I have a need to express such feelings, I will use the word "Pelosi." Let me use it in a sentence. "That's just a bunch of Pelosi." I encourage you to do the same. It is such a good word. It really packs a lot of punch. We are no longer being vulgar. But it clearly expresses our feelings. If enough of us use it, perhaps the word could be entered into the dictionary. What an excellent legacy for the Speaker of the House!

Look at this photo, look at it good.
See their joy, their smug happines.

That's what the Democrats think of the average American!
They think he's a putz, a dolt, an American Idol-Entertainment Tonight loving couch potato that watches 5-6 hours of TV a night. Someone that has no touch on reality and will cheerfully follow the MTM and the Dem's on their march to socialism. Someone that believes them when they say they know how to spend us out of this situation and that Government has all the answers.

And you know, there are millions of them out there right now and they are just a paycheck away from total chaos and panic. They have no idea what to do or how to do it. They no longer think for themselves but look to someone else for the answer. And those are the ones that we better be worried about when the popcorn really hits the fan in a few months. When the economy really tubes and we have shortages, not just of jobs, but of food, water, etc. They are the ones for whom the government is preparing Emergency Centers on military bases around the country. Where they can be gathered up so the govt. can control the rioting and mass hysteria.

So remember who did this to us and what they really think about us. They are the real cause of this mess and no one is calling them on it. What a sad day for America

Glen Beck has a good idea!

Glen Beck, the talk show host on radio and now on Fox has started this campaign in response to what a lot of us are now feeling about what's going on in Washington and the country. What are your feelings toward this?

Do you watch the direction that America is being taken in and feel powerless to stop it?

Do you believe that your voice isn’t loud enough to be heard above the noise anymore?

Do you read the headlines everyday and feel an empty pit in your stomach…as if you’re completely alone?

If so, then you’ve fallen for the Wizard of Oz lie. While the voices you hear in the distance may sound intimidating, as if they surround us from all sides—the reality is very different. Once you pull the curtain away you realize that there are only a few people pressing the buttons, and their voices are weak. The truth is that they don’t surround us at all. We surround them.

So, how do we show America what’s really behind the curtain?

Below are nine simple principles. If you believe in at least seven of them, then we have something in common. I urge you to read the instructions at the end for how to help make your voice heard.

The Nine Principles
1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

The 12 Values

  • Honest

  • Reverence

  • Hope

  • Thrift

  • Humility

  • Charity

  • Sincerity

  • Moderation

  • Hard Work

  • Courage

  • Personal Responsibility

  • Friendship

Peggy Noonan Makes a Good Point

Peggy Noonan, a former special assistant to President Ronald Reagan, and now a weekly columnist for the Wall Street Journal made some good points in her column this week. I've posted a couple of paragraphs that really hit home for me. You can read the rest of the column here.
